Horrifying Events at Virginia Tech Highlight Video Enabled Phones

Todays terrifying shooting rampage at Virginia Tech is still developing as of this writing. This is how i found out:

NBC just called, I’m to hop on a charter out of Dulles. My next post will be from VA Tech. All of the most dramatic video thus far has come from cell phones

WOW! I didn't know you heard it first from me, Jim. I was surprised that I hadn't seen anybody Twittering about it when I sent that message -- but I only follow about 90 people. As I mentioned in subsequent tweets, it brought back memories of my high school days. I was headed toward the Drag (by the UT campus) when I heard radio reports of a sniper shooting from the Tower (administration building). Charles Whitman killed 15 and injured 31 during that 90-minute rampage back on a sunny day in Austin in August, 1966.

I've been disappointed that Twitter web servers have been down the last couple of hours. I was looking foward to reading lots of reports from you. I see an updated message here, so you must be tweeting via SMS.
