Another important woman to watch in internet video
April 2, 2007
After posting “Four Women to watch in internet video” I was contacted by former debutante and Atlanta socialite Pauline Ashley-Wilkes of True Gritz..

As you can see in this episode, dated July 17, 2006, Robert Scoble had her (or co-host Sas Gordon-Walker) pegged as one of the top seven contenders to replace Amanda Congdon as Rocketboom host.

Whether it was bad representation or just bad luck, that didn’t come to pass.
What’s bizzaro about this particular True Gritz episode, is that it features a clip of Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi channeling Elvis in the Jungle Room at Graceland, while visiting with President Bush.

Here’s where it gets downright eerie assembled readers. I shot that video in my capacity as network TV “travel pool” camera that day! Being there and watching the Prime Minister sing was uncomfortable indeed. As ZeFrank once told me: “what a strange world we live in”.
So the blogger tips his hat to Pauline Ashley-Wilkes.

The blogger was contacted by TRUE GRITZ co-host Sas Gordon-Walker.

Gordon-Walker, not one to share the limelight, pushed her way on to this blog through her publicist. It was this behind the scenes in-fighting that reportedly scuttled any hopes for the Rocketboom job. In addtion to her co-hosting of TRUE GRITZ, Sas, or “Sassy!” as she’s known on the internets, is an intermediate level cricket player and a pretty nifty web designer.

Jim baby, first let me applaud you for bringing “women on the internets” to folks attention. HOWEVER if “debutante” Pauline has somehow fandangled herself onto this list I think Sas should be squeezed in there somewheres too… no? Perhaps at #4-1/2?

Humphhhh… that woman’ll steal anything not nailed down. And not just travel pool video either. While I may have been the one picked-up for the “silver incident” in Aunt Bess’ attic, but it was Sas Gordon-Walker who committed that crime, not me.
